Books and Profile
Bruce's Martial Arts Books
Books for the serious and dedicated martial artist who wants to learn the reality that gives effective skills.
The Reality of Pressure Points
This short eBook discusses why in chat rooms, magazine articles and martial arts clubs there are people who love and people who hate, pressure points.
Pressure Points - The Deadly Touch
This is not an eBook for the pre-teen black belt who wants to ‘kick ass’, it’s for the mature martial artist who wants to expand their understanding of how the body works and how it’s possible to interrupt the normal functioning of the body by attacking vulnerable points.
This eBook takes a serious look at the history and the basis of 'Poison Hands' which are martial arts techniques that to some seem more like magic than an actual achievable skill. If you are a serious martial artist then this information may well help you to understand one of the higher levels of the arts.
Advanced Pressure Points
Building on from Bruce's eBook 'Pressure Points - The Deadly Touch', this eBook looks at Pressure Points as a complete system! The System uses Western medical terminology gives you exact explanations and locations so there is no confusion on what points work or why.
Reflex Pressure Points
Reflex points are a subset of pressure points in general which includes, amongst other techniques, light force knockouts. This book will strive to give you the understandings of what reflex points and reflex actions are and how to use them.
A rational approach to Chi
'Chi' is that mystical energy much beloved by a variety of people including many martial arts instructors but is it actually real? Bruce Everett Miller looks at Chi (and related topics) and comes to some interesting conclusions.
Weapons use for the Martial Artist
Bruce Miller’s book on weapons draws on his military, medical and martial experience and is designed to get you to think about and understand the principles of weapons use. This book will give his views and explanations about different weapons. Covering the major classes of weapons so that you can take what is said and use the principles in your own weapon training regardless of what weapons you use.
Martial Arts Questions and Answers
Here are a grab-bag of questions that he has been asked and his answers. If you want to learn more about effective martial arts... get this book today.
Advanced Fighting Techniques
Most martial arts schools do not really teach their beginning students the real principles behind sparring. People get their knowledge by competing against other classmates in their dojo. That may be fine in the dojo but it is not what you need when you run into the unknown on the street. This book will try to teach you the real principles behind what works and why it does.
The Meanings of Forms and Kata
How can you learn the REAL reasons why there are forms and katas in most martial arts, and why should you spend so much time studying them. This eBook by Bruce Everett Miller will let you understand the real meaning to the moves that are hidden in forms and kata - hidden in plain sight, if (yes IF), you know what to look for.
The Path to Enlightenment
What is enlightenment?
Do you know… How can you know… What do you need to know… Bruce Everett Miller has studied this matter for many years – not from the viewpoint of an ascetic who sits quietly upon a mountain-top contemplating his (or her) navel. But from the viewpoint of a both a Warrior and a Healer. And his conclusion… The path to enlightenment is there, it’s not an easy path but it is there if you want to follow it…
Lies That Can Kill
The Past and present story of Snake oil salesmen, Placebos, Scams, and Quacks.
This book started when I was doing additional research for my book on Chi. I frankly became fascinated by the history and tales of Placebo’s and trickery that have occurred throughout the ages… So let us look into the facts behind some of the claims, be they old examples of 'snake oil' or the more modern scams that feed off of our fears about our health...
